Bell's Boilers & Bathrooms terms and conditions

For the purpose of these terms and conditions the following words shall have the following meanings:

a) 'We/Us/Our' – Bell's Boilers & Bathrooms

b) 'The customer' – person or organisation for whom the works are carried out for / contracted by

  • Acceptance of estimates/quotations to be made, in writing only, via email by the customer
  • Acceptance of estimates/quotations confirms acceptance of these conditions
  • The deposit, if required, will be due when estimate/quotation is accepted
  • Payment terms will be detailed in each individual estimate and unique to each job
  • Payment via bank transfer or cash only
  • Estimates/quotations are valid for a period of 30 days and thereafter maybe subject to change
  • Material prices subject to change without notice and are not guaranteed
  • Payment of labour and materials due within 72 hours after completion date, a late payment fee will be issued if payment received after the specified date
  • Changes to order/scope of works may result in change in estimate/quotation
  • Cancellations after material purchase will be chargeable. At the rate of return.
  • Estimates/quotations will generally be based on a non-intrusive survey and it will be assumed that all existing systems are in good condition. For faults found, we reserve the right to make a charge to correct
  • In the property is rented, the customer must gain landlord’s written permission prior to work commencing
  • If the property is listed, it will be the customers responsibility to gain any permissions needed for works undertaken.
  • Timescales given are our best estimates, where delays are likely we will notify you and discuss new timeframes
  • Travel time for spare parts, for emergency call outs, will be chargeable
  • All reasonable care and attention will be taken during works, no responsibility can be taken to fault/failure of existing systems due to disturbance caused by proposed works
  • Ownership of any materials supplied, fixed or unfixed, shall not pass to the customer until invoice is paid in full
  • For call outs a minimum of an hour will be charged, regardless of work carried out or time spent, additional time required will be chargeable at a reduced hourly rate
  • Where other trades are involved (not controlled by us) any delays caused by their progress will be chargeable & delay completion
  • It is the customers responsibility to ensure pets and children are kept away from working areas
  • During works it may be necessary to isolate various supplies (i.e. gas water electric), this will be advised in good time and kept as short as possible
  • For works involving gas pipework and/or appliances: the existing supply will be subject to soundness check for compliance to Gas Safety regulations, faults will be advised to the customer and corrections will be chargeable
  • Flooring may need to be lifted (i.e. carpet, floorboards, tiles floors etc) to access system components, the room will need to be cleared prior to work commencing. All care will be taken to preserve the existing flooring and put back to the best possible fit. We will not be responsible for any damage caused during this process. A specialist contractor can be used, organised and paid for by the customer.
  • It will be assumed that unrestricted access to areas will be afforded during course of works. Any delays caused by denied access will be chargeable and possibly delay completion
  • Where a system power flush is required, which is generally harmless. However, depending on the condition of existing components, this process may find weakness. Should damage be caused by the flush we will not be responsible, and correcting will be chargeable
  • No allowance will have been made for casing new pipework, painting or decorating new works – unless stated
  • Estimates/quotations will not include parking fees levied in controlled zone; any fee incurred will be passed to the customer
  • Estimates/quotations will not include cost to remove dangerous substance (i.e. Asbestos) found during works, clearance of these will be chargeable
  • No provision will have been made to remove waste from site
  • Customer supplied materials will be unboxed with the customer present and any defects/issues pointed out prior to instalment
  • All boiler spares/parts will be supplied by us and will be manufacturer supplied parts only
  • Certificates will be issued upon full payment of invoice
  • Works required at a height of 2m+ will require scaffolding, to be organised and paid for by the customer
  • Works are guaranteed for a period of 6 months, starting on completion date – unless otherwise stated
  • No guarantee will be given by us to customer supplied parts/materials
  • Estimates/designs are not to be disclosed to any third parties
