Shower room conversion to a bathroom, Coxheath, Maidstone
Our brief was to convert a shower room to a bathroom.
Project details:
The original installation had become dated and developed some faults, such as loose floor tiles, a leaking shower tray resulting in floor and wall damage, and poor water pressure due to a low cold water storage tank
The room was positioned in a dormer so had a flat roof
The customer also wanted a bath installed instead of a shower tray, requiring a total room alteration.
What we did:
A shower pump was also installed to improve water pressure and flow
The original sanitary ware was removed with no problems, and most of the tiles fell of the walls with no issues
The original blockwork walls and plaster was all sound, except where the original tray had leaked. The loose material was removed and wall repaired, and left to totally dry while other work continued
The original ceiling was removed so new wiring could be installed for lighting, insulated and replaced with moisture resistant plasterboard
All studwork was constructed from galvanized metal instead of timber so impervious to moisture, was ply lined for strength, covered in moisture resistant board in non wet areas, and tiled
A wall hung toilet was installed to maximise space, along with a wall hung basin and semi-pedestal to ease cleaning
A shower was installed above the bath, and a concertina shower screen installed to make entering and exiting the bath easier.
We are delighted with the work that you have done. A clean, professional service with a great finish.
